She has been teaching mathematical subjects for more than 20 years and involve actively in teaching and learning. As a dedicated teacher, she used different approaches to engage the students in studying mathematics, including blended learning, gamification, flipped teaching, and several other active learning approaches to maximize the learning effectiveness. Different tools were utilized to create the resources and learning platforms for the students, including Google Sites, Blogspot, Youtube, Microsoft products, Geogebra, Moodle, and Quizizz.
Betty has won bronze medal in Malaysia Technology Expo in 2012 for her innovation in interactive mathematical websites. She was awarded The Most Promising Academician (Teaching) in the same year by Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia. She has also won a silver medal in another innovation award in PERINTIS, Malaysia in 2016. In 2021, she has won silver medal in Malaysia Technology Expo for the integration of technologies in her teaching. Recognizing her contributions to the university, she was appointed as the head of digital learning in College of Engineering, Universiti Tenaga Nasional, and pioneering the development of online courses in her university.
